I’ve been delving into the world of network marketing lately, and as per my usual style… when I say ‘delving’ I really mean diving in head-first without a snorkle or flippers in sight.
I’ve learned that Network Marketing has a strong and professional business structure behind it. When I coupled that with a world-class organic product that I can believe in 100%, there’s been a pretty compelling reason to keep swimming with the company I am partnering with.
In the scheme of things, my network marketing business has grown incredibly fast. Within 4 months I hit leadership ranks in my network marketing company, and within six months am now one ‘rank’ away from a 200k per year residual business.
One of the key reasons that my network marketing business has grown so fast is that I began leveraging the power of my blog early on in my experience.
There’s no doubt that this has sped up my success greatly, and I am well aware that it will usually take others longer to ramp up this quickly in Network Marketing.
I’m also aware that others may compare themselves with my speed of success, and if that’s you, please remember that I have taken 5 years already to build myself a network and a brand online. I haven’t had a ‘better’, ‘easier’, or ‘luckier’ experience than you in Network Marketing. I just ‘started’ a little earlier.
But you too can live by a quote I heard recently that resonated with me:
Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.
Leveraging the power of a blog to grow your network marketing business is a smart move. While your face to face and personal engagements and the strategy that your Network Marketing company have laid out for you (no doubt either phone, real-life meetings) are your fastest and smartest short-term success path, the positive results from blogging for your Network Marketing business are all long-term.
However the time will pass anyway, and if you’re serious about your network marketing business then you’re a long-term kinda’ person (and I like you).
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. -Chinese proverb
Not only is a blog going to help you reach more people, it will also help you speed up the success of your network marketing business, increase your monthly residual income, and ultimately, help you earn more money even when you’re not working, providing for your vision faster.
Here’s 7 ways your blog can grow your network marketing business.
1. Personal branding
Over the last 5 years of blogging I have built a personal brand with my audiences. My personal brand is what people say about me and my business when I’m not there. My brand is particular to me and includes attributes such as; fun, honest, transparent, funny and REAL. And then topics and messages like; healthy, health, natural, organic and wellness.
Over the last 5 years of blogging, I have built a great deal of trust with my readers. This has meant that when I have brought my Network Marketing companies product into my blog conversations and newsletters, my audience trust in what I have to say and have engaged with and purchased the product I am selling.
And by the way, of course I am genuine in my referral and recommendation. It never works if it’s not genuine because our peeps have a bullshit meter they can smell a mile away.
2. Reverse Content Marketing
Reverse content marketing is the concept of marketing in which the customer seeks you and your products and services out instead of you seeking them out. It allows your buyer to be in charge of their buying habits and, to the buyer it feels less like they’re being sold to and more like they are receiving value from you.
Here’s three examples of blog posts that reverse market content to a target audience for a Network Marketing company.
1. If you write about ‘no-tox’ or ‘low-tox’ solutions, your Network Marketing company is doTERRA Essential Oils and your target audience is the busy mother who doesn’t have time to fiddle with long lists of instructions and or ingredients you could write a blog post like:
‘How to make a simple cleaning spray that really works in under 30 seconds with only 3 ingredients.’
Then within your list of ingredients are your doTERRA essential oils with links or instructions at the bottom of the post that explain how your audience can purchase the oils.
2. If you write about skin-care or beauty or fashion, your Network Marketing company is Rodan and Fields, your target audience is high-class women then you want to offer them content that solves their own specific pain + relate it to the Roden and Fields range.
‘The only 5 products you need in your make-up bag for younger-looking skin’.
Then you can walk through the range you have and why it works, again with links to how to purchase the products.
3. If you write about fitness or weight-loss solutions, your Network Marketing company is Isagenix and your target audience is the stressed-out Mum who has tried everything she can to lose weight and is fed up and feeling ‘out of options’, then you want to offer them content that solves their own specific pain + relate it to the Isagenix range.
‘3 reasons why a nutritional cleanse is the perfect solution to your weight loss!’.
And then of course, once more, you are going to direct the audience reader to find more information on your product or service, have them Optin to your newsletter list, contact you or purchase your product.

3. Traffic generation
It helps drive traffic to your website. Hells Yes Right?!
Think about the ways people find your website:
- They could type your name right in to their browser, but that’s an audience you already have. They know who you are, you’re on their radar, and that doesn’t help you get more traffic on top of what you’re already getting.
- You could pay for traffic by placing tons of paid ads which can be quite expensive. And the second you run out of money, your traffic stops coming, too.
So, how can you drive any traffic? In short: blogging (+ social media, and search engines.)

4. Lead Generation
Now that you have traffic coming to your website through your blog, you have an opportunity to convert that traffic into leads.
Just like every blog post you write is another indexed page, each post is a new opportunity to generate new leads. The way this works is really simple: Just add a lead-generating call-to-action to every blog post.
Often, these calls-to-action lead to things like free ebooks, free white-papers, free fact sheets, free webinars, free trials … basically, any content asset for which someone would be willing to exchange their information. To be super clear for anyone unfamiliar with how traffic-to-lead conversions work, it’s as simple as this:
- Visitor comes to website
- Visitor sees call-to-action for a free offer
- Visitor clicks call-to-action and gets to a landing page, which contains a form for them to fill in with their information
- Visitor fills out form, submits information, and receives the free offer
If you scroll down in this blog post, you’ll see a call-to-action button. In fact, 99.9% of the blog posts we publish have call-to-action buttons … and yours should, too. That is how you turn that traffic coming to your blog into leads that you can nurture that will eventually lead to sales.

5. Search Engine Optimisation
All of this blogging is going to increase the chance of you and your Network Marketing business being found due to it increasing your Search Engine Optimisation
Search engine optimisation is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine (SERP) — including Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines.
Having continuous posts on a particular niche topic and focusing on keywords and content means search engines may rank your site higher and deliver more traffic and more of your target audience to your website, greatly increasing your chance of converting them to leads (having them sign up to your newsletter list) and making them customers.
6. Product/Service Education
People don’t tend to buy what they know nothing about. Most people need education before laying down their dough, and many simply don’t have the time nor desire to speak with you in person or over the phone. Being able to share relevant and educational blog posts on your product or service should give your audience answers to their top questions, show the value of the product itself, the results of using it and maybe even multiple ways the product can be used.
The sky is the limit with education and there are so many types of blog posts you can create to educate (in a reverse content marketing formula remember!).
6. Long-term results
So now you’re blogging in a way that reverse markets your product or service, you’re also driving traffic and leads. And you may be hanging out at the beach, driving the kids to school or even watching ‘Outlander’ on Netflix while you do it!
The effort you put in yesterday can turn into hundreds of thousands of views and leads in the future.
In fact, about 70% of the traffic each month on this very blog comes from posts that weren’t published in the current month. They come from old posts. Same goes for the leads generated in a current month — about 90% of the leads we generate every month come from blog posts that were published in previous months. Sometimes years ago.
We call these types of blog posts “compounding” posts. Not every blog post will fit into this category, but the more evergreen blog posts you write, the more likely it is that you’ll land on one of those compounding blog posts.
7. Like bees to honey!
To continuously attract new leads and subscribers you will need to regularly give them a reason to come to your website. Creating consistent content is going to help you to continually connect with your audience, get a better reach through online search engines, and help cement you as a thought-leader in your space.”
